My World of Work: careers web service launch

Skills Development Scotland launched the redeveloped My World of Work on Monday 25 January, with a new look and a host of new features.

Registered users will get a more personal service with more relevant information, including employment and Modern Apprenticeship opportunities.

• School pupils can take advantage of the new subject choices tool, seeing how their choices could relate to future careers.
• For parents, the service also offers clear, relevant advice on supporting the young people in their lives at big decision times.
• Teachers can take advantage of the specially-developed classroom activities supporting career education in schools.

Other new features include About Me, offering an insight into how personality and interests relate to careers. And the updated CV builder makes writing and editing CVs quicker and easier to start applying for that dream job.
